What are cookies?
Cookies are files that can be downloaded to your device through web pages. They are essential tools for the provision of numerous services of the information society. Among other things, they allow a website to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or their device and, depending on the information obtained, they can be used to recognize the user and improve the service offered.
Types of cookies
According to the entity that manages the domain from which cookies are sent and processes the data obtained, two types can be distinguished:
- First-party cookies: Sent to the user's terminal from a domain managed by the website editor and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
- Third-party cookies: Sent from a domain not managed by the editor, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.
If the cookies are installed from a domain managed by the editor but the information collected is managed by a third party, they are not considered first-party cookies.
There is also a classification based on the length of time they remain stored in the browser:
- Session cookies: Designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are usually used to store information needed only for the provision of the requested service on a single occasion.
- Persistent cookies: The data remains stored in the device and can be accessed and processed during a period defined by the cookie’s controller, which can range from a few minutes to several years.
Finally, there is another classification according to the purpose for which the obtained data is processed:
- Technical cookies: Enable navigation and use of website features, such as session control, accessing restricted areas, and security elements.
- Personalization cookies: Allow access with predefined general characteristics (e.g., language, browser type, regional configuration).
- Analytics cookies: Allow monitoring and analysis of user behavior. The collected information is used to measure website activity and improve services.
- Advertising cookies: Enable the management of advertising spaces in the most efficient way.
- Behavioral advertising cookies: Store information about user behavior to display advertising based on a specific profile.
- Social media cookies: Allow interaction with content from social networks and are governed by each network's privacy policy.
Disabling and deleting cookies
You can allow, block, or delete cookies installed on your device through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may cause some services to stop functioning properly. Each browser has its own method to configure cookies, usually accessible through its Tools or Options menu. The following browsers allow you to manage cookie behavior, such as blocking third-party cookies or deleting them automatically:

EU Consent Detection
To determine whether cookie consent is required under EU regulations, we use a lightweight Cloudflare Worker to identify the visitor's country. This check is done without setting any cookies or using tracking technologies. While Cloudflare may retain short-term logs as part of its standard infrastructure operations, no personally identifiable information is stored or processed by us.
Your consent choice is then saved locally in your browser using localStorage, under the key __consentData
. This allows us to remember your preference without needing to ask repeatedly or rely on external tracking.
- country: Used only to determine if cookie consent is legally required in your region.
- status: Whether you've accepted or rejected optional cookies.
- timestamp: The time of your most recent choice, helping us avoid bothering you with repeated prompts.
- lastGeoCheck: The last time we checked your region to avoid doing it too often.
This data never leaves your browser. The status
is used to decide whether analytics scripts should run, and the lastGeoCheck
value is used to limit geo detection to once every 7 days for performance and privacy reasons.
Acceptance of the Cookie Policy
Banshee Technologies S.L. and homedock.cloud assumes that you accept the use of cookies. However, it displays information about its Cookie Policy at the top or bottom of any page on the portal at each login in order to make you aware.
Given this information, the following actions can be taken:
- Accept Cookies: This notice will not be displayed again during this session.
- Reject All: All the cookies are rejected for a 24 hours period.
- Close: The notice is hidden on any page and navigation unless reload.
