Turning Any Computer into a Cloud, an Interview with PCUMH
We were interviewed by the UMH Scientific Park to talk about HomeDock OS, our platform that transforms any computer into a private and secure cloud

We were recently interviewed by the UMH Scientific Park (PCUMH), where we talked about what we’re building at Banshee, a cloud operating system that turns any computer into your own private server, accessible from any location or device. HomeDock OS was born from a simple question…
Why has “the cloud” been promising to revolutionize everything for over a decade, yet all it’s really given to the average user is a space to upload files and photos? We thought it was time to change that.
Most people never got the control, security, or freedom they were promised. Instead, they ended up locked into monthly subscriptions, handing over their data to third-party platforms. HomeDock OS flips that script, giving you a true cloud environment you fully own, right on your own hardware.
What We Shared in the Interview
During the conversation, we introduced HomeDock OS as a cross-platform system that you can install on Windows, macOS, or Linux. Once installed, it turns your computer into a personal, private, and secure cloud for free.
You can also subscribe to our managed cloud, where we host it for you, giving you immediate access to install apps and services through our built-in App Store. We also shared that we launched on Product Hunt on February 28, now have 100+ active users, and are focused on raising funding and hiring developers to keep growing.
This April, innovation has been buzzing around the UMH Scientific Park. Surrounded by a thriving ecosystem of tech and research at the Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche, other companies from the park like Hawk Biosystems, just like Banshee, are making global moves, recently traveling to the U.S. to take part in a major event on multiomics, clinical diagnostics, and space biology.

Thanks again to PCUMH for the opportunity to tell our story.
● PCUMH:
Ever imagined storing all your applications in the cloud, saving space on your device, and accessing them anytime, anywhere? Thanks to Banshee, a startup from the UMH Scientific Park, now it’s possible and easier than ever. One of its co-founders, Claudio González, tells us more.
● PCUMH:
How did the idea of creating HomeDock OS come about?
■ Claudio González:
It came from realizing that the cloud had been promising to revolutionize everything for over 10 years, but for the end user, it only provided basic file and photo storage. We said: this has to change.
● PCUMH:
What is this platform about?
■ Claudio González:
It’s a cloud operating system that you can install on Windows, macOS, or Linux, and it turns any computer into your own personal and secure private cloud, for free. We also built our own hosted version, so users who subscribe get instant access to install apps, services, and more from the App Store.
● PCUMH:
What are your next steps and goals?
■ Claudio González:
The next step is to close a funding round. We need liquidity because this is a complex and large-scale project. We’re also looking to hire more developers, it’s a top priority right now.
● PCUMH:
And how was the public response?
■ Claudio González:
We launched on February 28 on Product Hunt, which gave us great initial traction. We now have over 100 active users, and some of them have already subscribed to the service. So overall, very positive feedback and great momentum.
