HomeDock OS on Onda Cero: Interview with Claudio González
We were invited to Onda Cero Elche to share the vision behind HomeDock OS, how it works, and how it empowers users to self-host apps and data on the cloud

We were recently featured on Onda Cero Elche, where we had the chance to talk about HomeDock OS, our cloud platform that transforms any device into a personal and secure server.
In the Mas de Uno radio show, hosted by Mayte Vilaseca, the interview covered how HomeDock started as an idea in Elche, supported by the Scientific Park of UMH, and grew into a full solution to help people offload apps and data from their local devices.
What We Talked About
During the interview, we explained how HomeDock OS allows anyone to turn a computer into a personal cloud, accessible from anywhere through a simple browser. The platform can be installed locally for free, or used via our hosted subscription plans, which start at 200 GB of storage. Also, using the integrated App Store, users can install applications and tools for productivity, artificial intelligence, VPNs, and more.
This approach results in a significant reduction in local storage use and processing demands. Our hosted solution also includes SSL/HTTPS by default, enhanced security, and access to a broader range of apps.

Big thanks to Mayte Vilaseca and the Onda Cero team for giving us the chance to share what we’re building ❤️
● Mayte Vilaseca:
We’re all using more and more applications and services provided by new technologies. So, what’s happening? Well, both individuals and companies are reaching a point where the amount of data we store (from apps to cloud services) is becoming a problem. Our devices get overloaded, and we end up stuck. With this in mind, a group of visionaries from Elche, supported by the UMH Scientific Park, decided to create software that allows us to host apps in the cloud and access them remotely.
This way, our devices don’t get saturated. That’s how Banshee was born, a company based in the UMH Scientific Park, which launched the HomeDock platform. It can be installed on nearly any operating system and accessed from any device through a browser. It lets us unify all that material we currently have across devices in one single application. That’s what caught our attention. And to learn more, who better than the CEO of Banshee and one of its founders, Claudio González. Welcome, Claudio. Good afternoon.
■ Claudio González:
Hello, good afternoon! How are you?
● Mayte Vilaseca:
I’ve explained it very informally to make it easier to understand, but what exactly is the service you offer through the HomeDock platform?
■ Claudio González:
Well, we’ve designed software that installs on Windows, Mac, or Linux (basically any OS) and turns that computer into a cloud you can access from anywhere, anytime, using any device. But of course, to monetize it, we had to build a business around it. So, we created our own cloud to offer it as a subscription service.
● Mayte Vilaseca:
Right, let’s suppose I subscribe to your cloud service using the HomeDock platform. What do I get? What happens from that point on and how do I use it?
■ Claudio González:
As soon as you subscribe, we assign you a subdomain within our platform under homedock.cloud, which is our website. From there, you can access the App Store to install apps for productivity, AI, VPN, security, pretty much anything you can think of.
● Mayte Vilaseca:
And when we want to use it, can we do so directly from our phone or computer, just like we currently do with local apps?
■ Claudio González:
Yes, of course. Even from a fridge… Anything with a browser can access it without any issues.
● Mayte Vilaseca:
Is the storage unlimited?
■ Claudio González:
No, it’s not unlimited. If you install HomeDock on your own computer, you turn that machine into your personal cloud, so the storage depends on your device’s capacity. But if you subscribe to our cloud, we offer different plans; for example, 9.95€ for 200 GB, 16.95€ for 300 GB, and so on. Depending on the plan, your available storage increases for files, apps, and services.
● Mayte Vilaseca:
If I’m understanding correctly, your platform helps save space on our devices and also gives us direct access to our apps and files.
■ Claudio González:
Yes, and in addition, it saves computing power. Since apps run in the cloud, you don’t need the latest high-end laptop or smartphone to run them. They’re processed in the cloud for you.
● Mayte Vilaseca:
And what about people who don’t want to keep their device on all the time or don’t have a machine to run remotely?
■ Claudio González:
They can subscribe directly to our cloud. The experience is exactly the same as installing it locally. In fact, subscribing with us gives you extra features like HTTPS security, more available applications, and other enhancements that might be harder to configure on your own system.
● Mayte Vilaseca:
Let me give you a concrete example I think everyone can relate to: when you suddenly get a message saying your inbox is full and you need to buy more space. How would that be resolved with your service?
■ Claudio González:
That would be resolved by upgrading your subscription. So, if you had a 200 or 300 GB plan with us, and ran out of space, you could simply upgrade to a higher plan with more storage, no problem at all.
● Mayte Vilaseca:
So there’s always the option to scale up.
■ Claudio González:
Exactly. In fact, we’re planning to launch new plans focused specifically on storage in the coming months, going up to 1.8 TB (that’s 1,800 GB). It’s an enormous amount of space that almost no one would fill today.
● Mayte Vilaseca:
Not even a massive company, right?
■ Claudio González:
Well, they might, depending on how they manage it, but I think it’d be quite difficult.
● Mayte Vilaseca:
How can people get in touch with you? Where can we find you?
■ Claudio González:
You can find us through our website, homedock.cloud, or email us at hello at homedock cloud.
● Mayte Vilaseca:
Homedock.cloud, as in “nube” meaning the cloud?
■ Claudio González:
Exactly.
● Mayte Vilaseca:
And your email address again?
■ Claudio González:
hello at homedock cloud
● Mayte Vilaseca:
Well, it’s been a pleasure having you on the show. We now know more about this platform, HomeDock. You can find it at homedock.cloud. Congratulations to Claudio, the CEO, and to your brother Néstor who couldn’t be here, for this initiative and for being part of the future, no doubt about it.
■ Claudio González:
Thank you very much.
● Mayte Vilaseca:
Remember, look it up, loot at the HomeDock platform. homedock.cloud.
■ Claudio González:
Yes, that’s right.
● Mayte Vilaseca:
I’ve memorized it! Congratulations, Claudio. Thanks.
■ Claudio González:
Thank you.
